Vanessa Torres is a songwriter, facilitator, counselor and activist. She has spent the majority of her life using poetry, music and deep listening as tools towards individual and community connection and healing. She has worked with individuals from a wide variety of ages, identities and perspectives using songwriting and poetry as a point of connection and transformation.
Having just graduated from Southwestern College with a Masters in Counseling, her work includes leading grief and trauma groups for children and teens through Gerard’s House–a center for grieving children and families. Torres facilitates individual and group songwriting collaborations with Lifesongs. This work is centered around the notion that through honoring and sharing our stories with one another, community building and personal resilience can flourish.
