As Director and Founder of Opening Minds through Art (OMA)”Like” developed, delivers, and evaluates the OMA program. She also provides service learning opportunities for students, all while improving quality of life for people with dementia through art-making.
Like is a Senior Research Associate at Scripps Gerontology Center, Miami University and the founder of the Opening Minds through Art (OMA), an intergenerational art program for people with dementia. She is an artist, gerontologist, and educator (BA in art, UC Berkeley; BFA., California College of Arts; MGS in gerontology; PhD in education, Miami University). She has made over 100 presentations in North America, Europe and Asia. She is an associate editor of The International Handbook on Aging, and has published in journals such as Journal of Intergenerational Relationships and Journal of Applied Gerontology. She continues to make art using fiber and glass.
