Designed by a team of poets, linguists, psychologists, speech therapists, and nursing scientists, this research project integrates poetry with language exercises for dementia patients. Discover the techniques of implementing poetry sessions for cognitive rehabilitation and the evaluation methods, including field notes, video recording, structured interviews, linguistic and interactional analysis, and vocabulary tests.

Presentation Outcomes

  • Participants will learn a methodological approach to apply to their own research.
  • Participants will gain field knowledge of speech therapy and linguistics.
  • Participants will learn about advantages of case-based, qualitative research.
  • Participants will learn about creative aging research in Germany.
