Art, Wellness and Vital Involvement in Aging: A Teaching Artist – HUD Housing Connection 

Creativity and purpose are essential to healthy aging. The Art, Wellness, and Vital Involvement in Aging Project and Study integrated creative programming, senior housing services, and the arts into over 100 affordable senior communities housing for more than 5,000 elders in 23 states.

Within this interactive demonstration, discover the preliminary results and techniques used in HUD Affordable Senior Communities. Learn how to apply these techniques in other settings, obtain sustainable funding, and document outcomes.

Presentation Outcomes

  • Participants will learn the impact of teaching artists in Affordable Senior Housing communities.
  • Participants will discover the opportunities and compensation within this setting.
  • Participants will learn how to increase health through art programming.
